Financial education helps develop students' life skills
We teamed up with the Hong Kong Family Welfare Society to develop a unique financial education programme called "GET $ET GO! Money Management Workshop". Aimed at junior secondary students, the workshop builds money management skills. Kids learn in practical ways, and develop a healthy attitude towards money. They learn about the huge benefits of saving, as well as the responsibilities and risk of borrowing.
It is essential for teachers to properly teach children about money at schools. As such, we have developed resources to deliver professional training to teachers teaching Business, Accounting and Financial Studies (BAFS).
The Stock Trading Guru board game was made to help educators teaching Stock Trading as an Investment – a revised part of the BAFS curriculum. Regular workshops train teachers how to use the Stock Trading Guru board game, and its supporting teaching materials.
Stepping into adulthood, tertiary students take more responsibility for their finances. If they manage their money wisely, it may benefit their financial future. To strengthen the whole-person development of tertiary students, colleges and universities provide more general education programmes and elective modules. Financial literacy education is thus of critical importance for tertiary students and educators.
