Central place for holistic financial information and education resources

IEC website with new look and contents

The IEC has greeted the new year by providing Hong Kong people with a central place for generic and holistic financial information, tools and education resources on its website to assist their learning and actions as well as to enrich their experience.

The IEC was established last year as a dedicated financial education organisation to cater holistically for the education needs of the public across the entire financial sector. Our enhanced website www.hkiec.hk covers information and education materials ranging from banking and insurance, to investing and retirement as well as financial management.

The newly developed “Life Events and You” section also provides users with personalised resources to meet their needs at different life stages or events. From students, people who have started working to retirees, as well as major life events such as getting married, setting up a home and illness and death, the IEC website provides checklists and tips to better equip the general public with skills and knowledge to make informed financial decisions and manage their money wisely.

A set of interactive tools such as budget planner and savings goal calculator are also available to help the public plan for and manage their finances. Other learning resources include IEC’s research on Hong Kong’s financial issues and financial knowledge and capability, multimedia contents, cases, publications and glossary.

In addition to a new look, the enhanced website included a brand new YouTube channel, sharing function via the Facebook and my favourite pages option to facilitate browsing.

To encourage the public to strengthen their financial knowledge and skills, the IEC will launch a month-long education campaign in the form of online quiz from mid-February available for public participation. Fabulous prizes await you, don’t miss the chance to take part. Stay tuned for the IEC website for further details!
