IEC welcomes appointment of General Manager

The Investor Education Centre (IEC) today announced that Mr David Kneebone has been appointed as the General Manager of the IEC with effect from 23 June 2014. Prior to taking up this role, Mr Kneebone was the Executive Director at the Commission for Financial Literacy and Retirement Income (CFLRI) which leads and coordinates the national strategy for financial literacy in New Zealand. The CFLRI aims to improve the financial well-being of all New Zealanders and provides free, independent and impartial financial information and resources.


Professor Leonard Cheng, Chairman of the IEC said, “I am pleased that Mr Kneebone has joined the IEC, bringing to us his extensive professional knowledge and rich international experience in financial education. I look forward to working closely with him and his team to further advance our objective to enhance the public’s financial literacy and capability.”


"I am very excited about joining the IEC and I look forward to working with Professor Cheng and our key stakeholders to better equip the general public with sound financial decision-making skills; as well as to strengthen the IEC as the focal point of financial education in Hong Kong,” said Mr Kneebone.
